Everything you need to know about COTA sorted from A to Z. Please note that policies and information listed on this page are subject to change without notice.

A

ADA Accessibility

Circuit of The Americas is committed to providing a world-class experience for all guests during their time at The Circuit. COTA is equipped with accessible parking, ADA-compliant access ramps and shuttles and mobility assistance wheelchair rentals. We are excited to debut new services enacted by our ADA Task Force, such as our sensory rooms in Grand Plaza.

Accessible services such as wheelchair rentals and sensory room access can be requested by visiting a Guest Services location.

Accessible Seating

The Circuit offers accessible seating in grandstands at Main Grandstand, Turn 12, and Turn 15.

Guests must have the appropriate ticket and companion ticket(s) to access these seats. ADA tickets can be purchased on our website or by calling (512) 655-6300 prior to race weekend

If you are not able to access your ticket location once on-site, please contact COTA at (512) 301-6600 or visit one of the box office locations (Grand Plaza or Main Grandstand).

Accessible Parking and Transportation

Accessible parking spots are located in Lots A, C, D, and H and are reserved for those with a valid parking placard. These spots will be available on a first-come, first served basis.

Guests will need to purchase a parking pass for these dedicated lots and bring their valid parking placard in order to access the accessible spots.

Accessible shuttles will be running from all lots and can be requested by texting COTA to 69050.

ADA Accessible Golf Carts are also available for guests who require assistance on-site. These can be requested at the ADA tents next to the shuttle stops.

Age Requirements

Ticketing age requirements differ per event.

Germania Insurance Amphitheater Concerts – Children over 2 years old require a ticket. If a child is 2 or under, they are able to enter for free with a ticketed adult and can sit on the adult’s lap.

MotoGP – Children aged 12 and under are given a free general admission ticket when accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Formula 1 – Children 3 years of age and older will require a ticket regardless of general admission or reserved seating.

*If a child requires a specific seat, the guardian must purchase a ticket.

Alcoholic Beverage Policy

The following alcohol related policies are meant to help promote safe and responsible alcohol consumption at Circuit of The Americas:

  • Valid I.D. is required for purchase. A guest that appears to be 30 years of age or younger must produce a valid form of acceptable identification.
  • Acceptable forms of United States identification for alcoholic beverage purchases are: Driver’s License, Passport, State Issued I.D. Card w/ Photo, and Military I.D. w/ Photo.
  • Government Warning: According to the Surgeon General, women should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects.
  • All guests must be 21 years of age to purchase an alcoholic beverage. There is a 2 alcoholic beverage limit per person, per identification.
  • Alcohol Sales will be cut off approximately 30 minutes prior to the end of the event.
  • This is subject to change at the discretion of management.
Animals

Animals and pets are not permitted at Circuit of The Americas unless they are service animals or service animals in training.

Emotional support animals, therapy animals, or companion animals are not permitted.

Circuit of The Americas does not condone animals being left in vehicles or unattended while on-property. Any animals left unattended may be picked up by animal control.

ATM

There will not be ATMs available on-site as COTA is a cashless venue. Visa, Discover and Mastercard are accepted.

Automobile Assistance

COTA provides complimentary jump-start assistance service to guests who are experiencing automobile trouble before, during and up to one hour after any event. Please contact our Security Department at 512.655.6220 for assistance. We are unable to assist with lockouts, please contact a local locksmith.

B

Baby Changing Tables

Baby changing tables are available in our community restrooms located within the Main Grandstand and Grand Plaza.

Bag Policy – Size & Security

Bags must be no larger than 12x12x20 inches.

Bags are subject to screening by security personnel. COTA uses revolutionary technology for screenings, allowing items to be kept in bags and cutting down wait times during the entry process.

Exceptions can be made for necessary medical items after proper inspection at entry. Camelback backpacks are permitted but must be empty upon entry.

Prohibited items include but are not limited to: coolers, briefcases, luggage of any kind, computer bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size. These such items can be checked at the Grand Plaza. There will be a non-refundable charge per bag and payment is cashless. Bag check opens at the same time as gates and closes 30 minutes after gates close. Bags that are not picked up prior to bag check closing will be taken to Lost and Found.

Super Stage Concert Floor Upgrade Seating and Super Stage Loge Boxes allow the following bags:

  • Large storage bag (1 gallon re-sealable, clear, plastic)
  • Large clear tote (cannot exceed 12″ x 12″ x 6″)
  • Small clutch bags or purses (does not have to be clear – cannot exceed 4.5″ x 6.5′ x2)

All other bags are prohibited within the concert

Box Office

There are two main box offices at Circuit of The Americas – one at the Main Grandstand and one at the Grand Plaza entry gates. Starting October 16th, the COTA Box Office will be open for guests to visit, purchase tickets, and pick-up tickets. For ticketing assistance and box office hours of operation, please contact us at (512) 655-6300 or view the Know Before You Go page for the event you’re attending.

Cameras & Camera Equipment

For Formula 1 / MotoGP: Personal camera equipment (e.q. digital cameras, detachable lenses, point-and-click digital or film cameras) are permitted at The Circuit. Tripods, bipods, monopods, and detachable telephoto lenses will not be permitted within gates.

For Germania Insurance Amphitheater: Camera policy is determined on a by-show basis. Please keep an eye on Germania Insurance Amphitheater’s social media channels and website close to the show date for information regarding the show you’re attending.

Camping/Overnight Parking

For Formula 1 and MotoGP: Camping is permitted only in the designated lots with appropriate passes. Tailgating is permitted within the lots during events, but tailgating events must not take up more than one parking space.

Children

Children aged 3 and under are given a free general admission ticket when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Children 4 years of age and older will require a ticket regardless of general admission or reserved seating.

*Children aged 12 and under are given free admission to MotoGP when accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Code of Conduct

Circuit of The Americas strives to ensure that all guests have a world-class experience during race weekend. Management reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without refund of any portion of the ticket price, to refuse admission to or eject any person(s) whose conduct is deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the enjoyment or safety of others.

The following actions are violations of the Guest Code of Conduct:

  • Fighting, taunting, instigating or encouraging any action that may harm, endanger, threaten, or bring discomfort to anyone
  • Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures concerning a person’s race, ethnicity, color, gender religion, creed, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, or national origin
  • Any action that causes a disruption, creates an unsafe environment or interferes with the race including throwing or dropping any object on the track
  • Actions that impair others’ ability to enjoy the event, including mistreatment of other guests, verbal abuse, harassment, profanity, confrontation, intimidation, or threatening and irresponsible behavior
  • Unreasonably obstructing the view of other guests
  • Failure to follow the directions of staff and/or law enforcement, including refusal to produce proof of ticket or refusal to submit to security screening inclusive of physical searches prior to entering
  • Sitting in a location other than your ticketed seat, any unauthorized use of ADA seating areas, lingering in aisles, stairways or unauthorized areas of the stadium
  • Possession or consumption of illegal or prohibited drugs or substances
  • Intoxication or other signs of alcohol impairment or substance abuse that results in irresponsible behavior
  • Smoking within indoor spaces, including the use of vaporizers and e-cigarettes
  • Possession of any item listed on the Circuit of The Americas prohibited items list
  • Clothing that is deemed offensive, obscene, or inappropriate by staff
  • Damage, destruction, vandalism, or theft of any property
  • Any action that violates local, state, federal, or Circuit of The Americas policy

Guests are encouraged to report any violation of this Code of Conduct to security staff, police officers, or any member of the Circuit of the America staff.

Concerts

All COTA-purchased ticketed guests have access to the Super Stage Concerts on Friday and Saturday. Super Stage ticket upgrades are available by contacting Ticketing at (512) 655-6300 or visiting a Box Office during race weekend.

Concessions

A variety of food and beverage options are available throughout Circuit of The Americas. Paired with several of our proprietary concepts, we partner with national brands as well as several local food trucks to provide a diverse selection. Our options range from traditional core concession items, to pizza, BBQ, Tex-Mex, Turkish wraps, Thai, vegan/vegetarian options and many more concepts. We encourage guests to use the COTA App to find the nearest food and beverage sales points.

Directions to COTA

Please visit the Getting to COTA page for the best route to the venue based on your mode of transportation.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Drop-offs and pick-ups for the Formula 1 Pirelli United States Grand Prix will be in McAngus Lot. The complimentary tram will be available to transport guests from McAngus Lot to the Ticketmaster Box Office near the Grand Plaza.

Drone/UAV Policy

The use of any unmanned aircraft systems, radio-controlled model aircraft, and other devices that can be operated in airspace (i.e., drones) on Circuit of The Americas property, including parking lots, is strictly prohibited. Violators will be subject to criminal and civil penalties.

E

Emergencies
In the event you experience a personal emergency, immediately call 911,  or notify the nearest COTA staff member. Additionally, you may send us a text to 69050 with “COTA” followed by your request or question.
For serious emergencies, please follow the instructions provided by event staff, security personnel, and law enforcement officers. Essential information will be broadcasted through the PA systems and displayed on video boards.

Firearms & Weapons

Weapons of any kind, including but not limited to guns, ammunition, knives, pepper spray, handcuffs, smoke cans, and nightsticks are strictly prohibited.

Fireworks and Flares

Circuit of The Americas may use fireworks and other pyrotechnics throughout race weekend as part of displays and ceremonies. Guests are not permitted to bring or use fireworks, flares, explosives, or other incendiary devices while on COTA property.

First Aid

First Aid will be available within our venue during most events. Permanent First Aid stations are located in the Grand Plaza, Main Grandstand, and in the Paddock at the Medical Center. Please reference a particular event’s map for additional first aid locations, speak with a staff member or visit a Guest Services Tent, while at the venue for further information.

Food & Beverage Options

A variety of food and beverage options are available throughout Circuit of The Americas. Paired with several of our proprietary concepts, we partner with national brands as well as several local food trucks to provide a diverse selection. Our options range from traditional core concession items, to pizza, BBQ, Tex-Mex, Turkish wraps, Thai, vegan/vegetarian options and many more concepts. Our offerings vary depending on the size and demand of our events, but one thing is certain: you will always be able to locate a refreshing Coca-Cola product, a satisfying snack or entrée and an ice cold beer or cocktail.

Gates/Entry

Gate times will vary depending upon the event. Please reference the event page on our website, or the COTA App, for up-to-date information.

Entry gates for Formula 1 will be located at Main Grandstand, Grand Plaza, Turn 1, Turn 3, Turn 6, Turn 11 and Premium RV.

COTA Security and COTA Management, in their sole discretion, may refuse admission to or eject any ticket holder who fails to comply with the Code of Conduct (see CODE OF CONDUCT). By using any admission ticket and entering Circuit of The Americas, the ticket holder expressly agrees to the terms and conditions outlined upon purchase of their ticket.

General Admission Areas

For Formula 1, all ticket holders are able to access the general admission areas across property. Guests with a GA ticket can catch the on-track action from one of our many grassy viewing areas across the property. These areas are noted on the map on the COTA App. General Admission race tickets also grant access to the General Admission areas for the Germania Insurance Super Stage shows.

Guest Services

COTA has multiple Guest Services locations on-site to assist ticketholders with customer service, lost and found items, lost child/person reports, accessibility, and any other needs that may arise during the race weekend. Guest Services tents are located at Main Grandstand, Grand Plaza, Turn 1, and Turn 3, Lot N, and Lonestar Land.

Inclement Weather

Circuit of The Americas keeps a close eye on the weather during our events. If lightning is detected near property, announcements will be made on the PA systems and video boards with information on where to seek shelter. The FIA and Race Control will make decisions on the status of on-track activity if conditions are no longer safe for racing.

Lost & Found

Found items should be turned into the Guest Services locations. Unclaimed items will be turned into our Security Team at the end of each day. There are QR codes at all Guest Services locations that will allow guests to file a report with our online system for lost items.

If an item is lost during an event, please submit a claim by clicking here. On non-event days, please call 512.301.6600 for lost item information.

Items recovered will be held for 14 days, with unclaimed items donated to charity.

Lost Children/Persons

Lost children should be reported to the nearest COTA team member or our Guest Services staff. Team members will be able to contact our emergency teams and support will be dispatched immediately.

Lost or Damaged Tickets

If possible, please notify the Box Office that your ticket(s) were damaged, lost, stolen or misplaced prior to your arrival. Damaged tickets must be exchanged before new tickets will be reprinted. Please visit the Grand Plaza or Main Grandstand Box Offices with your photo ID and confirmation number to retrieve your reprinted tickets. Please also note that tickets can only be printed for the original ticket purchaser, no exceptions. Please get your tickets reprinted in advance to minimize any wait for yourself or other guests on event day.

Merchandise

There are several merchandise locations across the property. Official F1 merchandise is located in Grand Plaza and Main Grandstand. COTA merchandise can be found in our COTA Karting store at Main Grandstand and in Grand Plaza.

Mobile App

The COTA App is available in the App Store and on Google Play.

Mobile Ticketing

Mobility Assistance

Wheelchair rentals are available for guests who require assistance moving across COTA. A photo ID and a refundable deposit are required to rent wheelchairs. Rentals can be picked up at the Guest Services location in the Grand Plaza.

Nursing Mods

Circuit of The Americas offers private, air-conditioned nursing mods in Main Grandstand, Turn 1, and Turn 3 for mothers who are nursing or using a pump. Please visit First Aid or Guest Services for access to these rooms.

O

On-Site Assistance

If you require assistance at any point while at our venue, please notify the nearest staff member. If you do not see any staff nearby, send us a text to 69050 with “COTA” followed by your request or question. If it’s a location-based inquiry, please include your location.

On-Site Tram Service

There are trams on-site to assist guests with moving from one location to another. Tram stop locations will be posted on the COTA App. Each stop will have a tram flag as well as a COTA Representative to help guests find the correct transportation route.

Parking – Standard, Premium, ADA

Motorsports Events – On-site parking exists in Lots A through T, and various lots will be utilized for each event. Parking can be pre-purchased on the event page, and sometimes purchased with cash on the day of the event in designated lots. Please visit the page for the event you wish to attend for parking information, including parking lot recommendations based on ticket/seat location.

Germania Insurance Amphitheater Concerts – Standard parking (Lots A, E and F) is included with the purchase of a concert ticket. Parking locations are always subject to change. Premium parking (Lot B, C and D) is available for purchase per show while supply lasts to park closer to the main entrance of the venue.

If you travel to a concert via a charter bus or shuttle, the service must purchase a charter parking pass to park on the property. This pass can be purchased online or at the box office on the day of the event. Charter vehicles without said pass will be asked to leave the property and return at the end of the event.

  • One 20oz factory sealed water bottle per guest

    • Note that tripods, bipods, and monopods will not be permitted.
  • Portable, collapsible chairs
  • Sunscreen (plastic bottle only, no aerosol cans)
  • Umbrellas (small, hand-held style)

Unless otherwise specified by event management, Circuit of The Americas welcomes small signs, banners and posters at races. Please review the following guidelines related to those items:

  • Item must be related to event
  • Item may not be attached to a stick/pole
  • Item may not be larger than 11″ x 17″ when open
  • Item may not obstruct any sponsor/advertiser signage
  • Item may not be hung, attached or displayed on any part of the venue
  • Item may not contain or display obscene/offensive language and/or pictures, as determined by COTA management
  • Item may not be constructed or displayed in a manner that may obstruct the view of other guests, or in any way create a safety hazard for others as determined by COTA management
  • Guests may not distribute pamphlets, advertisements, brochures or other promotional materials while inside the venue without prior approval from COTA management

For concerts at Germania Insurance Amphitheater, please be aware signage larger than a standard 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper is typically prohibited. Please keep an eye on Germania Insurance Amphitheater’s social media channels close to the show date for information regarding the show you’re attending.

Guests may not distribute pamphlets, advertisements, brochures, or other promotional materials while inside the venue without prior approval from COTA Management.

Prohibited Items

For the safety of all guests, all patrons are subject to search prior to entry. This list is exhaustive and Circuit of The Americas reserves the right to make changes at any time without notice.

Please review the list of items that are prohibited to bring within the gates at The Circuit for motorsport events:

  • Weapons, including guns, knives, pepper spray, handcuffs, and nightsticks
  • Explosives, including fireworks, flares, or other incendiary devices
  • Drones
  • Animals or pets (exception of service dogs)
  • Food and beverages including alcoholic beverages
  • Unauthorized transportation, including bicycles, scooters, skateboards, Segways, golf carts, skates, and hoverboards
  • Illegal substances, including illegal drugs and marijuana
  • Bags larger than 12″ X 12″ X 20″
  • Coolers, thermoses, or ice chests
  • Metal water bottles
  • Glass containers
  • E-liquid or vape juice
  • Safety hazards or annoyances, including balls, Frisbees, balloons, projectiles, horns, radios, bells, whistles, musical instruments, and laser pointers
  • Non-collapsible chairs
  • Tents or canopies
  • Unauthorized promotional or commercial material, including merchandise
  • Signs or posters larger than 11″ X 17″ or attached to a pole
    • Signs and posters may not contain obscene or offensive language or images
  • Inappropriate or overly revealing attire
  • Items used to block views or interfere with guests’ experience

There are additional restrictions for those with upgraded concert tickets for the Germania Insurance Super Stage shows at Formula 1. Lockers will be available at the entrance to the upgraded concert areas if needed.

At concerts in Germania Insurance Amphitheater:

Germania Insurance Amphitheater has a separate prohibited items policy from The Circuit. Items may be prohibited on a show-by-show basis at the discretion of the tour and artist. Please visit GermaniaAMP.com for detailed information regarding your particular show and our complete list of prohibited items.

R

Re-Entry Policy

Re-entry is permitted during motorsport events. We ask that guests who leave the venue and plan on coming back scan their tickets at the gates prior to exiting. Guests will be subject to another screening by security personnel upon re-entering.

Re-entry at Germania Insurance Amphitheater concerts (separate from races) is not permitted.

Refunds

All ticket sales are final. Circuit of The Americas does not offer refunds. Please view our complete ticket policy by clicking here.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located around the Circuit grounds. Permanent restrooms are located in the Grand Plaza, Germania Insurance Amphitheater bowl, Main Grandstand and at Turn 1. All of these restrooms are ADA accessible. Look for signage to direct you to the nearest restroom.

Temporary restrooms are located across COTA property.

Rideshare Pick-up/Drop-off

For MotoGP: Rideshare services will operate out of McAngus Lot. A complimentary tram will be provided to take guests from McAngus Lot to the Ticketmaster Box Office near the Grand Plaza.

For Formula 1: COTA Blvd will be restricted to permitted vehicles and buses only. Similarly, rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc) services will operate out of the McAngus parking lots only. To ensure a successful transit experience, rideshare vehicles will not be permitted on COTA Blvd during race weekend.

Scalping

Scalping is strictly prohibited on Circuit of The Americas property and may result in loss of ticket privileges and/or prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.

Season Ticket Opportunities

Security Procedures

All bags, purses, backpacks and persons are subject to screening by security personnel. Fans entering the venue should prepare accordingly. Ticketholders should be aware that there are no provisions for returning banned items to them when such items are left at the venue entrances. Patrons are encouraged to leave all banned items at home or in their vehicles before entering the venue. Individuals who deliberately attempt to bring banned items through security checkpoints are subject to removal from the facility.

The re-sale of COTA admission tickets is strictly prohibited on the property, which includes the facility’s grounds and surrounding areas.

All security measures are subject to change without notice.

Sensory Room

For guests with sensory processing needs, Circuit of The Americas has a sensory room located in the Grand Plaza. Both of these resources can be accessed by visiting one of our Guest Services locations.

Children/dependents must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

Severe Weather

All concerts and motorsports events are rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, please check COTA’s social media or the artist/series’ social media for any updates. If a weather emergency occurs during an event, COTA will notify all guests and direct guests to take steps to minimize risks. Your safety is our priority.

Signs

Unless otherwise specified by event management, Circuit of The Americas welcomes small signs, banners and posters at races. Please review the following guidelines related to those items:

  • Item must be related to event
  • Item may not be attached to a stick/pole
  • Item may not be larger than 11″ x 17″ when open

Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices is strictly prohibited in all indoor or covered facilities, restrooms, and grandstand seating areas.

Smoking and vaping will only be allowed in authorized areas that are 15 feet from an entrance or openable window of an enclosed area.

Video cameras or any type of professional recording devices will not be permitted inside the gates at COTA during major entertainment events.

Collapsible wagons are permitted at motorsport events in the general admission areas.
