Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo today helps kick of a week of awesome entertainment as Austin gears up for the return of the FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX by sharing his very own USGP Spotify Playlist with the world.
The list of 23 songs will be forming Daniel’s soundtrack for the week as he prepares to race at the Circuit of The Americas in front of his ever-growing American fanbase once again. The songs are a mix of Daniel’s old and new favorites, including some of his favorite American artists, and are sure to set the tone for a week of high octane excitement on and off-track.
Racing for the fourth time in Austin, Ricciardo is no stranger to a city he already counts as one of his favorites on the Formula 1 calendar: “Austin is just a fun place and the city is always so lively and everyone is super friendly. Great food, great music and just a good atmosphere. It’s also quite different to everywhere else we go…it’s definitely one of my favorite races, if not my favorite one.”
As his playlists suggest, Ricciardo is a big music fan and Austin’s status as the Live Music Capital of the World is not lost on him. One of Austin’s favorite live music haunts in particular stands out for the Australian driver: “I think Rainey Street is really cool. Just some cool little restaurants and bars and great live music. It’s just so casual and you can find somewhere to go every night of the week. That’s another great thing about Austin.”
When it comes to what music he will be listening to before the lights go out next Sunday, Ricciardo’s answer is perhaps not surprising in light of his standing as one of the most exciting drivers on the F1 grid: “In terms of pre-race, I change it up a lot. It really depends on my mood. Sometimes it’s heavy punk rock and other times it’s a bit of hip hop…[but} Austin has definitely got me into some more folk country music!”
