Trace the paths of champions as you navigate COTA’s challenging turns, pushing both yourself and your vehicle to the edge.
Now open to ages 21+, along with an all new 2025 fleet of BMW M3 Competition xDrive’s & BMW M340i’s. Gain exclusive insights into how racing legends master the iconic Turn 1 climb, the flowing esses, and the back straight. Where is the COTA Driving Experience located?
The course is located at 9201 Circuit of The Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617.
What type of vehicle do I get to drive?
Participants over the age of 25 will be driving a 2025 BMW M3 Competition xDrive and participants from the ages of 21-24 will be driving a 2025 BMW M340i.
Can I drive my own vehicle at the COTA Driving Experience?
For your safety, you must drive one of our BMW M-performance vehicles. Our BMW vehicles have undergone hours of tests to ensure that they are up-to-date with all inspections and safety protocol.
Are there any driving requirements for attending the experience?
All participants must be 21-24 years old to drive the M340i and at least 25 years old to drive the M3 Competition xDrive. Driver’s must also have a valid driver’s license to participate in our driving program.
How large is the average class?
Each event is limited to a maximum of 28 participants to ensure a high-quality experience. This includes 24 spots reserved for participants aged 25 and older, and 4 spots designated for those aged 21-24.
How much driving time do I get?
Guests receive approximately 1 hour of total driving time. The experience includes 2 hours of “on-track” activity, during which Driver A and Driver B alternate driving every 15 minutes to maximize seat time and ensure equal participation.
What clothing should I wear?
When participating in an on-track driving experience, it’s important to prioritize safety and comfort. Here are some recommendations:
- Helmet: COTA will provide homologated helmets available in all sizes.
- Closed-toe shoes: Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes with a good grip. Racing shoes or athletic shoes with thin soles are ideal for better pedal feel and control.
- Long pants: It’s advisable to wear long pants.
- Comfortable clothing: Choose comfortable, moisture-wicking clothing to stay cool and focused during the experience. Opt for breathable, lightweight materials.
- Sunglasses: During hot summer days, protect your eyes from the sun and glare with sunglasses.
Can I stay overnight at COTA?
Make your COTA Driving Experience more than just a day trip—turn it into a full weekend getaway by staying on property at COTA RV Park. Our on-property RV sites feature full hook-ups, easy access to driving experiences, and a welcoming community atmosphere that makes every stay memorable. After your track time, relax at your campsite, enjoy tailgates, campfires, and wide-open Texas skies, or connect with fellow enthusiasts. Staying on-site means less time commuting and mortise enjoying your experience!
