NASCAR at COTA took over The Circuit this past weekend, and COTA was honored to share the experience with the Central Texas community.

Schoolteachers in the Del Valle and Austin districts were given two free tickets to the entire NASCAR at COTA race weekend. Any additional tickets needed were offered at a discounted rate for those teachers bringing more family and friends to see the action. Over 2000 teachers and their guests filled Turns 12 and 15 grandstands, taking in some of the best views of the Circuit.

“Our neighbors are the foundation of Circuit of The Americas’ continued success. Teachers are the backbone of that community and we’re always thrilled to welcome them to our campus and create lifelong memories,” said COTA’s Director of Public Engagement, Carter McCullen.

NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace and his Live to Be Different Foundation helped COTA and Speedway Children’s Charities welcome students from KIPP Texas Public Schools for a special, student-led Q&A session on Saturday. KIPP Texas is an open-enrollment, free public charter school network helping to prepare students for life post-graduation. Bubba Wallace spoke about the responsibilities and risks of his profession, and shared valuable advice about perseverance applying to both the workforce and higher education.

On Sunday, COTA welcomed students and faculty from Huston-Tillotson University in partnership with Speedway Children’s Charities. The historic HBCU in the heart of Austin is a key community partner of COTA and the group was able to enjoy not only the thrills of the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at the Circuit, but also get on-track access to the Riley Green pre-race concert.
