Meeting ready-to-love animals at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) was an ideal way to celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. On Sunday, April 30, COTA partnered with Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) to show off adorable, adoptable shelter puppies alongside rare, luxury, and exotic automobiles at Cars & Coffee Austin.
Cars & Coffee Austin is a free, family-friendly car show hosted by COTA on select Sundays. For the first year, the event has a new For-Sale lot, located behind the one-of-a-kind karting track. Additionally, live track events, including Super Lap Battle and the leading provider of non-competition track events, Chin Track Days, have revved up the exhilaration for spectators. One extra surprise this past Sunday involved an insatiable amount of belly rubs.
Six adoptable puppies and their fosters joined in for this unique edition of Cars & Coffee, putting those in-need of furrever homes right in front of attendees. Two hours and two applications later, Philo and Ace found their new pa(w)rents.
COTA and APA!’s long-standing partnership has been instrumental in saving lives and effective in Austin remaining the largest no-kill city in the country. “COTA is awesome, and this event draws a lot of crowds and families, so this was a great idea for a partnership with APA!. Bringing Lily here and to this event is special because it’s important to introduce her to people and for them to see her personality. She’s a special little girl and I would love for her to find her forever home,” said Alexandra Lewis, foster mother of Lily.
If you missed this event, not to worry. Austin Pets Alive! is always looking for prospective paw-rents or foster paw-rents for their shelter animals. Established in 2008, APA! promotes and provides resources, education, and programs needed to save the lives of animals most at risk. You must be 18 years of age, fill out an application form, and provide a photo ID with a current address. Adoption fees will vary depending on age, breed, and medical and/or behavioral conditions.
Cruise by the next Cars & Coffee Austin on May 28 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., parking lots open at 7 a.m. Register a showcase car for only $10 when you pre-purchase online. Spectators are encouraged to enter the COTA campus via Elroy Road for easy access to the event.
