Germania Insurance Donating $10 Per Vehicle + COTA Donating Percentage of Ticket Sales to Local Organizations

AUSTIN, TX (November 19, 2020) – Circuit of The Americas (COTA) announced today they will be donating to local organizations including Operation Blue Santa, The Trail Foundation, Dell Children’s Medical Center, I Live Here I Give Here, and Emancipet during select charity nights throughout the run of Peppermint Parkway. COTA will also be honoring the military community with a special Military night.

“This year has really proven that we need to take care of our neighbors and give back to the community that we are lucky to call home,” said COTA Founder and Chairman, Bobby Epstein. “This truly spectacular holiday experience allows us to give to local charitable organizations, provide jobs at a time when they are needed the most, and provide some family fun unlike anything seen before. We’re bringing the coolest light displays, using COTA’s two tunnels and creating a “wow!” entertainment experience.”

Texas-based Germania Insurance will be sponsoring each charity night by donating $10 per every vehicle that enjoys Peppermint Parkway. Additionally, COTA will be donating a percentage of ticket sales from each charity night directly to each charity partner. The holiday spectacular will be a one-mile driving attraction that will immerse visitors in millions of holiday lights synchronized to joyful holiday classics.

“It’s been a tough year for all of us, including the nonprofits and local businesses that provide our neighborhoods with so much good,” said Germania Insurance Chief Marketing Officer Min Choi. “The holiday season is all about giving, and we couldn’t be happier to do our part to donate to the organizations that have given so much to us.”

Operation Blue Santa – Sunday, November 29

Austin Police Operation Blue Santa (OBS) is a non-profit, community based corporation, governed by a board of directors and staffed by volunteers and employees of the Austin Police Department.  Each holiday season, OBS provides toys and food for families in need during the holiday season. This charitable outreach began in 1972 when two patrol officers realized that 20 families on their patrol beat would not have gifts or food for their children at Christmas. Each family received a full holiday meal, complete with all the trimmings, and wrapped Christmas gifts  for each child. This year, OBS is on track to serve over 6,000 families.

The Trail Foundation – Sunday, December 6

Since The Trail Foundation’s (TTF) formation in 2003 as a 501(c)(3), they have made it their mission to protect, enhance, and connect the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake for the benefit of all. The foundation is committed to maintaining and enhancing the Butler trail through ecological restoration as it connects Austinites to nature and us to one another for generations to come.

Emancipet is on a mission to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for everyone. They manage an expanding national network of high-quality, low-cost clinics; offer customized training and consulting programs to animal welfare organizations nationwide; and advocate for strategies and public policy that improve the lives of pets in underserved communities.
