The 2015 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX weekend just got bigger with the addition of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup as a support race.

Porsche’s flagship Cup series has run exclusively as a Formula One support series for the past 23 years, but made its debut at Circuit of The Americas during last year’s grand prix.

The 3.4-mile circuit in Austin, Texas, will once again host the series’ season finale that will feature two 30-minute sprint races.

The series races Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 991) cars, which are based on the street-legal 911 GT3 RS lightweight sports car but with a wider rear-wing and a 460-horsepower 3.8-litre boxer engine. The similarity in the cars puts the emphasis on driver and team skill as well as track luck.

The close racing is sure to provide plenty of excitement and entertainment at Circuit of The Americas.

More information about all of the festivities taking place during the United States’ only Formula One Grand Prix can be found at circuitoftheamericas.com.

Tickets are also available starting at $59 for a single-day pass and $169 for three-day admission at circuitoftheamericas.com.
