This weekend the roar of world-class motorsports returns to Circuit of The Americas (COTA), as the “Formula 1™ of motorcycle racing,” MotoGP™, makes its second trip to Texas.

The world’s best riders competing in the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 divisions, including Americans Colin Edwards (Texas), Nicky Hayden (Kentucky) and Josh Herrin (California) will be whipping around COTA’s 3.4-mile grand prix circuit at speeds topping 200 miles per hour.  Meanwhile, 2013 World Champion rider Marc Marquez (Spain), winner of last year’s MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas at COTA, is back to defend his title, while nine-time and international superstar, Valentino Rossi, tries to put the Yamaha factory team back on the podium’s top spot.

Between the on-track action, there is non-stop fun and entertainment to be found in the Grand Plaza, Support Paddock and Austin360 Amphitheater, which will be loaded with rider autograph and Q&A sessions, live music, great food, interactive exhibits and games, and impressive product showcases from the premier motorcycle manufacturers, including Ducati, Honda and Yamaha. COTA is the only place you can experience the famous Ducati Island fan zone this year. Plus, fans can literally “invade” the track after the MotoGP race on Sunday and then catch a live concert by Austin’s “Musician of the Year” Bob Schneider before heading home. The concert is FREE with paid admission. Additionally, COTA’s newest motorsports ambassador and former World Champion Kevin Schwantz of Austin, Texas, will be on hand to greet fans and lead members and guests riding their own motorcycles in a parade lap around the Grade 1 racetrack on Saturday, April 12, following qualifying sessions. COTA has an action-packed weekend planned, and fans can find a full rundown of events and entertainment this weekend at http://circuitoftheamericas.com/motogp/schedule.

Fans can also check the action from just about anywhere by tuning into Austin’s local sports and classic hits station, 104.9 FM The Horn. There are two ways to listen:

  • Catch live streaming all weekend long on The Horn’s FREE WEB APP.  Just open the Internet browser on your computer, tablet or cell phone and go to CotaRadio.com to catch a live stream of the action.
  • Plus, on Saturday, tune to 104.9 FM to hear live coverage of practice and qualifying sessions (Saturday) and the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 races.  The MotoGP races starts at 2 p.m. CT.
