Circuit of The Americas (COTA) and Red Bull are challenging motorcycle racing fans to show the world how well they can “lean” like MotoGP riders in exchange for the chance to win a VIP trip to COTA in Austin for the 2014 Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas MotoGP race April 11-13.

Now through Monday, March 31, 2014, fans are encouraged to “Show Us Your Lean” (#ShowUsYourLean) by taking photos of themselves replicating the extreme 64-degree leaning position that MotoGP riders assume when they go into turns around a racing circuit. The amazing balancing act performed by MotoGP competitors literally allows them to cut corners and save time and position as part of their race strategy.

“The most remarkable thing  you will see at a MotoGP race is how far the riders lean into each corner of the track as they’re completing turns,” COTA Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Geoff Moore said.  “It’s shocking to watch them scrape their knees and elbows on the track in an effort to shave seconds off their lap times. The #ShowUsYourLean social media contest gives racing fans the opportunity to show their support for their favorite riders by showing us their lean.  We expect to see some really interesting pictures posted to Twitter and Instagram!  So show us YOUR lean, and enter the contest for a chance to be treated like a VIP at MotoGP.”

The prize package for winning the #ShowUsYourLean contest includes the following:

  • Two three-day VIP tickets to the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas at COTA April 11-13;
  • Round-trip coach air transportation for two (2) people; and
  • Hotel accommodations.

There are two ways to enter the #ShowUsYourLean contest:

1. Enter from anywhere…

Take a pic of your best “lean” (think chairs, skateboards, Michael Jackson in the “Smooth Criminal” video) and post it to Twitter or Instagram. The more creative, the better! Just be sure to tag @CircuitAmericas and use hashtag #ShowUsYourLean in your post or Tweet to enter.

2. Enter at the following special events in Central Texas…
