Circuit of The Americas kicked off its 2015 event season with a weekend of nonstop racing from the Pirelli World Challenge. COTA, which is home to multiple world-renowned sports and music events throughout the year, welcomed thousands of fans to watch the racing series’ season-opener.

The Pirelli World Challenge features over 100 production-based racecars from the world’s most celebrated automotive manufacturers, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Chevrolet, Audi, BMW, Bentley, Nissan, Ford, Aston Martin, Acura and Mazda. Fans saw multiple classes of cars race throughout the weekend, ranging from European exotics to American muscle cars and even compacts.

Jason Wolfe, the TCA Class Champion, commented on Circuit of The Americas, “This place is awesome, the track’s perfect. The best facilities I’ve been to by far. I hope we come back next year; it was an awesome time.”

COTA President and Chief Executive Officer Jason Dial said, “We want to thank all the fans who joined us at Circuit of The Americas for our first motor-racing event of the 2015 season. What is great and special about a race weekend like this is the incredible fan access to the drivers and their cars. Our guests were able to explore the garage area and talk to the teams as they prepared to race. It is truly a unique weekend and we are pleased that we were able to offer this experience. With our first event in the books, we look forward to MotoGP in April and X Games in June.”
